Introduction
Ayurvedic preparation made from the gemstone emerald (panna). This bhasma (ash) is highly esteemed in Ayurvedic medicine for its numerous health benefits and therapeutic properties. Emerald is a gemstone found in a rectangular shape. Most of it comes from mines in South America. It has a green color. When heated, it first contracts and then turns dull in color. This gemstone is extremely hard. For making ash, smaller pieces are generally used.
Preparation Process
Prepare a paste by grinding the juice of baheda fruit, flaxseed, and dried ginger. Place a piece of emerald in the center of this paste and cover it completely. Then burn it using two kilograms of cow dung cakes. Repeat this process 20 times to produce a high-quality ash.
If the emerald breaks apart, prepare a tablet using the juice of baheda fruit, seal it again, and fire it using a high-temperature furnace.
Second Method:
Mix fine emerald powder with equal parts of manashila, orpiment, and sulfur. Grind the mixture with jackfruit juice to form a paste. Make tablets, dry them under sunlight, and then fire them using two kilograms of forest wood. Repeat this process 8 times to produce high-quality ash.
Unani Method:
Unani practitioners grind emeralds with aloe vera juice, make tablets, and fire them only once using 10 kilograms of forest wood. The ash produced is then used directly.
